Based on various wave picks already on the market, combined with mathematical calculations carried out for the first time and final analyses of several prototypes, have been created the basis for these perfectly successful rake picks.
They are made from the finest spring steel and in unrivalled high-tech quality in 0.6 mm thickness. The waves of the pick blades extend over a length of 25.4 mm to avoid the precise depth of penetration normally required and to enable simultaneous interaction with 7 pins. The wave crests are evenly tapered from the shaft to the tip to maximise strength and eliminate stress concentrations that result in fewer small strikes engaging. The long plow point lifts pin 1 instead of hitting it head-on. With good technique, immediate openings are often possible.
New wave rake profiles are based on Christina Palmer's original (2019) quint cycloid and quint sinusoidal waves, which were designed by her and a group of PhDs. To achieve this, advanced Mathematica software was used to create an exact tapered wave effect. Christina Palmer is known for her great passion for locksport. She combines her personal experience with the laws of physics, applying both to the development of these two sophisticated profiles.
