Text in the video: Ezcurra decoder. This decoder has a 6-pin reading scale, but you can also use it on 5-pin locks. A dedicated 5-pin decoder will work as well, although the scale won't match, so you'll have to rely more on feel. It's not quite as convenient, but it still gets the job done. 6-pin. The lifter arm rotates counterclockwise, so apply clockwise tension. Keep the tension light because the mushroom pins tend to catch. With light tension they're much easier to work with. Let's give it a try. This lock is slightly damaged, but it still fits for practice. This is a 5-pin Ezcurra lock. The scale doesn't line up exactly, but you can still decode it. For example, the third pin falls roughly between the third and fourth markings, so from this point on you'll need to rely more on feel than on the scale. As you can see, it still opens just fine. If the lock won't open with the Impression tool, a decoder like this can be extremely useful.
