The tool inserts with the shutter closed, and the tool can be pulled out with the shutter closed. Now open the shutter and apply a slight pull, usually more to the left on KALE. Release it, apply a slight pull, and then apply a little more pull. You can, of course, work like this, and it will open as well. Now, to remove it, set it to the LEVEL position, close the shutter. The shutter may resist a little, and then wiggle the tool so that it doesn't force it. Close it fully, and now you can remove it. And so on, repeating the process for each cylinder.
